Every October, the world goes pink to remember, honour and fight back against breast cancer. At A.A Foundation, Pink October is more than a colour: it is action.
Our volunteers gathered in Obuasi wearing 'Beat Breast Cancer' shirts, carrying banners reading 'Know Your Body, Check Early, Act Early, Get Screened Now' and 'Seek Help Early, Don't Delay Treatment'. Together with community health workers and partner nurses, we offered free breast health screenings, one-on-one consultations and education sessions for women of all ages.
We also addressed the community directly — speaking plainly about early detection, reducing stigma and encouraging every woman to take her health seriously. Elders, mothers, young women and community leaders all came together under the pink tents in Obuasi.
The message is simple: early action leads to better outcomes. Thank you to every volunteer, partner and participant who made this possible.
